The Project:
This project involved creating Sitemaps and Information Architectures (IAs). The purpose is to meticulously develop mobile and desktop designs and delineate the significant differences. Their main objective was to craft a unique and highly intuitive user experience with a specific, pre-selected category. This required that I dive deeply into the structural nuances of the digital product (Travel Platform) category. High-level site organization, observation, and detailed user interactions help facilitate the end goal of a high-level user experience.

The Purpose:
The primary purpose of this project was to cultivate a practical understanding of information architecture and user flow design by engaging with real-world examples and applying those insights to a new product. By meticulously analyzing the sitemaps of existing industry leaders, my goal was to identify best practices and critical differences in information organization across web and mobile, ultimately informing the creation of a distinctly optimized and user-centric experience for our chosen category.

The Parameters:
The project's parameters specifically mandated the creation of sitemaps for existing web and mobile platforms within our chosen category, requiring a comparative analysis of their information architectures to discern differences (beyond just device type) and identify essential IA components. Following this research, the central task was to develop detailed Information Architectures and corresponding user flows for both the web and mobile versions of our own proposed platform, ensuring a clear, structured thinking process was applied consistently across both mediums.

The Product:
The production process for this project was driven by a foundational research phase focused on competitors' sitemaps, which informed the subsequent design efforts. This analytical groundwork was crucial for developing the detailed Information Architectures and user flows for both the web and mobile iterations of our unique user experience. The iterative creation of these deliverables not only familiarized me with industry best practices for organizing digital content but also honed my ability to apply clear, structured thinking to design cohesive and intuitive user journeys.
