The Project

This capstone project was a collaborative endeavor focused on designing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), meticulously developed across three distinct milestones. Our team engaged in comprehensive user experience design activities, from initial in-depth user research and competitive analysis to the iterative design of information architectures (IAs), user flows, and wireframes. The project culminated in a final presentation, showcasing each participant's ability to transform theoretical UX knowledge into practical, innovative digital solutions within a collaborative environment.

The Purpose

The core purpose of this capstone was to apply theoretical UX principles to a real-world design challenge, thereby demonstrating our ability to build a functional and user-centered MVP. Through the systematic process of conducting thorough user research, developing empathetic user personas, and analyzing competitor strategies, we aimed to design a solution that not only met specific needs but also provided a seamless and intuitive user experience, proving our readiness to tackle complex design problems.

The Parameters

The project's parameters were structured around a phased approach across three milestones. This included conducting exhaustive user research, creating and refining detailed user personas and empathy maps, and performing a robust competitive analysis to benchmark existing solutions. Furthermore, the scope required the iterative design of critical UX artifacts such as Information Architectures (IAs), user flows, and wireframes, all leading up to a comprehensive final presentation that synthesized our design process and outcomes.

The Production

The production process for this capstone project was highly iterative and research-driven. We began by immersing ourselves in in-depth user research, which informed the subsequent development and continuous refinement of user personas and empathy maps. Concurrently, competitive analysis provided crucial insights into market gaps and opportunities. These foundational insights directly powered our iterative design cycles, where IAs, user flows, and wireframes were progressively shaped, ensuring that every design decision was user-centered and contributed to the development of a viable and impactful MVP.
